1st Ice climb of the season. Long's Peak = Get the legs in shape!

Every season of ice is usually started off in Rocky Mountain National Park.
The high elevation, and North faces always form up some nice treasures in
the Fall, and Spring time.

One of my favorite first routes of the season is Alexanders Chimney on Long's Peak.
6 miles of hiking, 3000ft of gain on the approach, and 4 pitches of mixed climbing make
for a great day.  Sleep in, go late, climb route after twelve noon, and hike out in the dark!
This was our strategy instead of getting up early, and hiking in the dark when it is freezing cold…

Here is some photos from the day, enjoy!
